This album showcases Morcheebas signature blend of trip-hop, folk-pop, and downtempo grooves, reaffirming their status as pioneers in the genre. It feels more original and grounded than it’s predecessor. For me a definite „Must have“ in my collection. „Call for love“ is a super sweet slow entry with a Skye Edwards sugar vibrato icing on a song with good vibes. „Elephant Cloud“ is an airy balad, which is just an ear worm. One is then confronted with a real Cross over / trip hoppy „Peace of me“ which reminds me a lot at old days…has some „Massive Attack“ Elements. Good Song for clubs. „We live and die“ again a balad, with a superbe hook line… hit single material! „Far we come“ with a very interesting und unique melody line and accoustic guitar textures in the background… well crafted and grounded. Down tempo groove a la Morcheeba style with Skyes signature voice. Love it. „Molten“ has a sweet and sopthing melody with a surpising spoken/rapped bridge. „Bleeding out“ gets then a bit more electronic, mid tempo and superbe bass synth lines opposed to Skyes voice with an airy depth. That one is a typical Morcheeba song. The reason I follow them for three decades… ❤️ „Cooler Heads“ with nice accoustic guitar samples and a Slow shuffle beat with sweet contributions of Ross Godfreys electric guitar. „Hold Down“ starts low, but then gets grip in the second half…. „Dead to me“ with a suprising bossa nova rythm and brasilian guitar vibes. Good for a single as well. Cool stuff. This is a new side of Morcheeba - love it! „Pareidolia“ with a distorted flute sound and low tempo beat with the clear voice of Amanda Zamolo… wow. It’s a trip. „Escape the Chaos“, the title song of this album is a Morcheeba gem with Skyes voice as low and deep as it can be with a vibe and slow rythms with a lot of reverb and delay…one to smoke some stuff with and enjoy it.
